Atiku Abubakar Visits Kano

Atiku Abubakar and Ibrahim Shekarau at Mundubawa

Surprisingly, the former vice president of Nigeria Atiku Abubakar visits Kano in the early hours of Saturday 18, November 2017, he firstly visits the emir's palace there after he joins with the former governor of Kano and former minister Ibrahim Shekarau in his palace, which looks like a political twist.

Atiku Abubakar is a famous political heavy weight in the history of Nigeria, he was a PDP chieftain before he quits then leaped to APC, there and then, shows his interest in becoming the presidential aspirant, where he rubs shoulders with the likes of president Buhari and Sen. Kwankwaso.

As time goes on, there were many tendencies that, Atiku may change feathers back to his old nest, in which he comfortably be what he was at this time, but in which capacity he wishes for joining back to PDP? Everyone knows the much desire Atiku has in mind, was to becoming the president of Nigeria.
Now, that Ibrahim Shekarau, Sule Lamido and Bafarawa are in prime position in joining the race to oust the present administration for the presidential seat, in the other hand some heavy weights of his (Atiku) likes were bent to stopping him, right from what looks like a misunderstanding with his former boss former president Obasanjo.

We believe, that misunderstanding may lead Obasanjo to do all his possible best in stopping Atiku from fulfilling his political ambition, the only option left for Atiku is plan B, as much as Ibrahim Shekarau has nothing to hide, he is puritan in the face of corruption and there was nothing defining him as the man of the underworld, it will be wise enough for the former vice president to join hands with this virtuous person.

Atiku and Shekarau would be formidable pairs, in the process of lifting the moral of Nigeria citizens,  that will be a kind of putting the right thing at the right place, Atiku should uplift Ibrahim Shekarau with his available resources and structure, just the way he does in lifting the present administration, if that succeeded with Shekarau, it won't be the same again.

This, for sure, will be seen as a grand political maneuver in the history of Nigeria politics.

The peoples choice

Ibrahim Shekarau delivering a lecture

The qualities of Ibrahim Shekarau are beyond counting, many people wondered how this man works his way through the limelight, right from the time he was heading different schools as principal, Shekarau managed the resources accordingly without helping himself to such treasure, Ibrahim Shekarau is a man of veracity even to his students, he (Shekarau) calls their attention at the beginning of each term and explained to them that "here is what the government allocated to our school to cater for your welfare''.

At the end of each term again, he also gathered all the students and explained to them how he managed to spend the money given to him for their welfare and the surplus money, taken back to government treasury, Ibrahim Shekarau did not enrich himself, he only helps the needy, for instance, if you happen to visit him for some assistance, of which he enjoyed much doing, Shekarau does give assistance to known and unknown but with the availability of his hard earn salary.

If one came to ask from Shekarau for some assistance and was not lucky enough, meaning that, he (Shekarau) already spent his salary, then he only jotted in his diary and ask the person to come when salary is paid, believe me you, immediately salary was paid, the first thing was to check through his diary for those he promises and kept aside what he has intended giving out, till the bearer come calling, such was the life of Ibrahim Shekarau.

up to the time Ibrahim Shekarau was elected Kano State executive governor, he was not in possession of hundred thousand naira according to him, he managed in handling the affairs of Kano through two term tenure, again Ibrahim Shekarau did not enrich himself, he also served as education minister for nine months, yet, Shekarau has a decent record of services to show. The anti-graft agencies tried him, scrutinized him, not a single proof enough to get him nailed. Nigeria need somebody of his capacity, integrity, sincerity and reliability.

These types of personalities are lacking in the present set of government, that is the reason why we call Nigerians to give Ibrahim Shekarau a chance, he has all it takes to manage Nigeria, he once managed the affairs of Nigeria principal forum, which consists of all geopolitical zones in the country which consisted of 99.9% graduates for two term tenure consecutively. The idea is fast selling among Nigerians, why must you be left behind, let us join hands together with Ibrahim Shekarau and salvage Nigeria.

Daughter of the soil

Ibrahim Shekarau, Prof Gaji Dantata and Brother

Good Will Message on the Occasion of Induction of Professor Gaji Fatima Dantata into the Academy of Education
In the name of Allah the Beneficent, the Merciful.
I feel elated to celebrate with my fellow compatriots, especially the people of Kano State of whom the celebrant. Professor Gaji Fatima Dantata, is 'daughter of the soil', for witnessing the tremendous and positive transformation as to pertaining 'gender renaissance' that is steadily taking place in our midst. It is greatly touching to me in view of this achievement of the induction into the Academy of Education of a woman, a mother, and my spouse, when a woman was regarded as having a place only in the kitchen and the other room.
We shall not stop at felicitating with Professor Gaji Fatima Dantata alone, but the entire womanhood who can surmount the presumed feminine weaklings tied on them by the history of trado-cultural conceptions or misrepresentations, to reach the top.
I personally entrench much importance to the idea that women should be educated. It is a common saying that if you educate a woman you educate a nation. It was exactly this tenet we prioritized during my administration as the Governor of Kano Sate.
We made it because the people had known where we were going. Our goal was sine quo non with their norms and aspirations. We recorded overwhelming trust and acceptability when we said student girls should wear hijab. The outcome was the increase in girl child enrolment in our schools. Also our women empowerment policy was a huge success, as it enabled mothers to contribute to the education of their wards.
At another direction, our legacy of protecting the dignity and honour of women in our society saw us introducing a moral safety valve in our transport system. We introduced the tricycle (and branded it A Daidaita Sahu) and made it a conveyance for only women. This brought about confidence in the polity and public’s acceptance of our policies. It is such dividends we would be envisaging to reap always in any proper women integration efforts.
We, therefore, suffice it so well to establish a proven identity with the disposition that women can do what men can do! Here is a lady, my wife, Professor Gaji Fatima Dantata, as an inspiration and aspiration for all.
Therefore, with a single voice that echoes the feelings of the general membership of my family and my political associates, I congratulate our Professor for this no mean feat. We also wish her Allah’s guidance in the tasks ahead.
Thank you and God bless.

Projects to be Executed Through the Tsangaya Trust Fund under Shekarau Administration

Ibrahim Shekarau delivering a lecture
The Tsangaya Trust Fund will be used exclusively for the purpose of improving the welfare conditions of almajiris and ameliorating their deplorable conditions. The specific areas of intervention include:

1.       Building Hostels, Study Sheds and Toilets
With the large number of almajiris living in overcrowded rooms, uncompleted buildings and dilapidated structures with no toilets and still others sleeping outside, there is the need to build as many hostels as possible for the teeming numbers of almajiris. At the same time, it ia also necessary to build classes where the almajiris can take their lessons from the teachers instead of the current situation where many almajiris take the lessons under tree shades or in the bare sun.

Almajiris modern hostel
2.       Feeding of Almajiris
There are hundreds of thousands of almajiris who daily have to go out begging from house to house in order to get food to eat. The pilot feeding project in Ajingi, Makoda and Warawa LGAs where all the almajiris were given three square meals daily and the Agricultural Assistance Programme for their teachers have all demonstrated that with enough will and commitment, we can bring an end to begging by almajiris and thus solve this problem that has defied  a solution for ages.

Almajiris without food or shelter
3.       Healthcare for Almajiris
Currently, most almajiris have no access to medical care whatsoever. When they fall sick they have no recourse but to go after traditional medicines or patiently persevere the ailments that can easily be cured if only they had access to hospital. The Fund would be used to alleviate the suffering of sick almajiris and ensure that they receive proper medical care.

Almajiris conducive environment
4.       Clothing for Almajiris
Everywhere almajiris are seen, they are in tattered and dirty clothes. Majority of them may not have more than one or two sets of clothing. During the cold season, they do not have sweaters and warm clothing and this exposes them to diseases such as pneumonia .  Neither do they have blankets and other bedding materials. The Fund will be used to provide all these materials to them.

5.       Skill Development Training for Almajiris
The successful experiment in training almajiris on a variety of skills such as carpentry, shoemaking, electrical installation, calligraphy, tailoring, and computing has clearly indicated that these students can be greatly empowered by giving them skills that they can use to earn money without in anyway effecting their studies. This is especially so when at the end of the training they are provided with equipment and tools. The Fund will be used to promote such skill development training.
